A TEAM of seven hardy members of staff from a Knutsford based firm are set to take to the slopes of Snowdon to raise money for a children's charity.

The Sense Sationals team, from the award winning financial advice firm Sense Network, on Manchester Road, will take on the 77kilometre (47.8 miles) challenge on September 16 and September 17, which includes a 5 km (3 miles) canoe paddle, a 27km(16.7 miles) hike and a 45 km (27.9 miles) mountain bike ride, to raise money for the Youth Adventure Trust.

Team member Karen Richardson said: "We were looking for a team building event when the Invesco Perpetual Snowdon Challenge came up.

It is in aid of the Youth Adventure Trust, a charity devoted to empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged young people aged 11 to 14 to achieve their potential, with the belief that a key part of a young person’s development is learning in an outdoor environment and provides them with the hope, confidence, skills and resilience that will last a lifetime."

The aim of the challenge on Snowdon is for the team to raise £3,300 which is the cost of sending one child on the trust’s 3 year programme.

Karen explains: We’ve all been training hard for this event over the summer by doing off road rides and hikes in the Peak District, particularly for the bike ride, which will be a major challenge for us all.

To raise money we have also done car boot and bake sales over the summer, the proceeds of which have all gone towards achieving our target and we have a couple more fundraising events scheduled before the big weekend.
