KNUTSFORD Academy has improved its A Level results for the fourth year in a row.

Almost 40 per cent of students achieved B or above across all their subjects, with 60 per cent of results recorded were at grade B or above and 90 per cent at grade C or above.

The academy also maintained a 100 per cent pass rate in its Studio School after all students passed their BTEC.

James Whittaker, head teacher, said: “We are absolutely delighted for all our students who have achieved such a fantastic set of results.

“To have achieved this ongoing progress and achievement in our A Level and BTEC results is testament to the continued hard work of our talented students and committed staff who provide so much support to ensure success is delivered.”

Knutsford Academy was recognised as a top performing school in The Sunday Times League List last year.

Adam Grewer, 18, will study Film, Photography and Media at the University of Leeds after achieving an A and a B in two A Levels and a distinction in his BTEC.

He said: "I was pretty confident going into today that I had done enough but I'm delighted to have done so well and get into my first choice.

"I am a Leeds fan as well so I know the area quite well already but I promise that's not the only reason I'm going. The university is fantastic as well.

"I'm looking forward to trying out some new experiences."

Bronwen Snook, 18, was 'relieved' after achieving three A’s in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and will study Civil Engineering at the University of Newcastle.

She said: "I did look to see whether I’d got into university online this morning so I was quite calm coming in to pick up my results.

"I'm really excited to get up to Newcastle. The people there are lovely and I'm going to look at joining a dance group while I study.

"I hope everyone got the results they wanted."
