MANCHESTER Airport’s tea parties have gone down a treat.

The airport hosted five tea parties for residents in areas such as Heald Green, Bramhall, Mobberley, and Knutsford as part of its Community Outreach Programme.

Residents aged 65 and over enjoyed welcome drinks, an afternoon tea, and a range of entertainment including a raffle, bingo and a photo booth.

The events had between 20 and 70 guests in each venue, and provided an informal atmosphere for the airport’s Community Relations team to meet residents.

The Knutsford Tea Party was also host to special guests, the Mayor of Knutsford Cllr Neil Forbes and his wife, Mayoress Mrs Jacquelyn Forbes.

They spoke to residents while enjoying afternoon tea and joining in with the entertainment on offer.

Wendy Sinfield, community relations manager at Manchester Airport said: “I’m always delighted to attend the Community Outreach events and find it a great way to meet and engage with people from the local communities.

“I would encourage all residents to attend an event so we can meet and chat to even more people living near the airport.”

The Manchester Airport Community Outreach programme hosted 64 mobile outreach events this year, contributing 414 hours to events in local communities.

Due to the popularity of the tea parties they will return next summer for more residents to enjoy.
