A MOBBERLEY company has raised £3,000 for charity by putting its replica DeLorean time machines on display, making film fans’ dreams come true in the process.

The BTTF Ltd team, which hires out its two iconic Back to the Future cars ‘Doc’ and ‘McFly’ for photoshoots and art projects, was invited to Jodrell Bank for bluedot festival in July.

Festival-goers were able to get up close and personal with the cars, and donated generously to the team’s Parkinson’s UK collection, raising £2,967 across the weekend.

Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox, who played Marty McFly in the popular franchise, was diagnosed with the degenerative disease aged just 30.

BTTF owner David Golding said: “The link with Parkinson's UK is paramount to me. My passion for the film and the cars is something that I want to share and so I felt because of Parkinson’s UK links with the Michael J Fox Foundation, it would make a fitting charity to support.

“We look forward to working with Parkinson’s UK on more fundraising opportunities.”

BTTF event manager Heather Clawson said: “This is our first festival and to see such reactions of excitement and sheer joy from visitors was just mind blowing.

“We hire out the vehicles for weddings and events but supporting charity events is our real purpose and very special.”

Both DeLoreans were transformed by the world-famous Bob’s Prop Shop based in Texas, the man who makes original time machine replicas for all of the films.

The funds raised by the BTTF team will allow Parkinson’s UK to continue its research work to improve the lives of the 127,000 people in the UK who are affected by the disease.
