CHILDREN at a Knutsford pre-school are reaping the benefits of the newly-formed Yoga Squad.

Egerton Pre-School, in Bexton Road, has enlisted the help of qualified yoga teacher Paula Kendall to introduce the popular mindfulness sessions.

Due to high demand from both parents and children alike, sessions have been taking place on a weekly basis.

Paula said: “Yoga has a plethora of benefits for younger children. The exercises are fantastic for building strength and fostering flexibility, aiding digestion and introducing calmness of mind and spirit.

“The exercises encompass age-appropriate mindfulness, encouraging the children to be still and aware of their surroundings and feelings. In today’s busy and hectic world, the sessions create a safe, quiet space for the children to relax.”

Andrea Jackson, the pre-school’s manager, says: “Both the children and the team at the pre-school are already reaping the benefits from the yoga and mindfulness sessions from Yoga Squad. The children actively look forward to their time on the mat each week.

“We feel very lucky to be able to offer our children the opportunity to grow with gentle stretches and calm time, and we are delighted that Paula has been able to introduce Yoga Squad to the preschool.”
