KNUTSFORD’S Mark Radcliffe has been featured on a list revealing the salaries of the highest-paid BBC stars.

Mr Radcliffe, the 59-year-old host of the Folk Show on Radio Two, is the tenth highest-paid radio star at the corporation, earning between £200,000 and £249,000 per year.

This puts him in the same bracket as current Doctor Who Peter Capaldi, television presenter Dan Walker and politics chief Laura Kuenssberg.

The BBC has been criticised in the wake of the list, which it published yesterday, Wednesday, for the gender pay gap.

Radio Two presenter and former Top Gear host Chris Evans, 51, is the top earner at between £2,000,000 and £2,249,999, while Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia Winkleman is the highest-earning female on £450,000 to 499,999.

Gary Lineker is second on the list at between £1,750,000 and £1,799,999.

The list does not include what several big stars earn from independent companies that make programmes for the BBC, or what they earn from their own production companies.

BBC annual reports show that 2016/17 saw the number of its stars paid more than £150,000 dip below 100 to 96 - down from 132 in 2010/11.

Below is the list in full.
