A NEW president has taken over at Knutsford and District Lions Club, with members, partners and friends gathering last week for a handover ceremony.
Clive Heath will be president for the 2017/18 year, taking over from Sonia Amos.
The chain was handed over at Tabley House on Sunday, July 9, where the organisation gathered for a guided tour of the house, its treasures and gardens, before enjoying tea and cakes at the home’s Tea Rooms.
Sonia thanked all who had helped her during her reign, which culminated in the Lions Centenary Fair on The Heath on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29.
Lions member Peter Willgoose said: “In accepting the chain Clive adopted the role of the ‘Mad Hatter’, and continued the Alice in Wonderland theme with poetical quips whilst relating the numerous achievements during the year, and thanking Sonia for her excellent work as president.
"The sun shone on Tabley, and everyone had a great time.”
