KNUTSFORD Academy students have thrilled sell-out crowds with a rocking production of new music School of Rock, performing across four nights last weekend.
Ben Moser starred as Dewey Finn, an unconventional substitute teacher who forms a band with his class, while Year 13 students Cerys Murray and Kai Walton tread the Knutsford boards for the final time ahead of leaving to study drama and acting.
During a rehearsal process lasting just short of three months, the cast of more than 60 students from Years 7 to 13 were treated to a visit from the show’s Cheshire-born West End star Joel Montague.
Creative team Helen Mayne and Lisa Scott, heads of performing arts and dance, respectively, were left delighted.
Helen said: “For the students, performing to a sell-out audience over four nights was a wonderful experience and their energy and enthusiasm was a pleasure to be around.”
The Academy’s winter production will be ‘Into the Woods’.
