A MAN from Stockport is set to face trial over a number of alleged offences in Cranage.

Ryan Kevin Day, 29, of Chamberlain Gardens, Bredbury, Stockport, was charged with four counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and two counts of taking a motor vehicle without consent.

Following a South and East Cheshire Magistrates Court hearing today, Wednesday, he was sent to appear before a Chester Crown Court jury on July 26.

Day has been remanded in custody.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "In the early hours of Tuesday, June 6, officers were called to reports of suspicious activity in the Needham Drive area of Cranage.

"Officers attended the scene and found that a number of sheds and outbuildings had been broken into.

"After following a number of lines of enquiries officers arrested a 29-year-old man from Stockport in relation to the incidents.

"Following questioning Ryan Kevin Day has been charged with four counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and two counts of taking a motor vehicle without consent."
