THE Canute Lunch Club last week celebrated the 101st birthday of one of its members.
Helen Townsend is a regular attendee, and marked the grand occasion with fellow members and organisers.
Club treasurer Yvonne Baker said: "Helen is a regular attender at Canute Lunch Club and we were all delighted to welcome her into her 102nd year."
The club was founded 39 years ago as St John's Wood Lunch Club, and last year moved to Toft Cricket Club.
Members meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week to socialise and enjoy a meal, as well as light activities on Thursdays. Transport is available for those who need it.
Highlights of members' calendars include Christmas and Easter, with events facilitated by a Knutsford Town Council community grant.
