THE Great Get Together takes place in Holmes Chapel this Saturday, June 17, commemorating the life of MP Jo Cox.
The non-political day is designed to celebrate communities, drawing on Jo's maiden Parliament speech, in which she said that we have more in common than that which divides us.
Events in the village will include performances at care homes between 2pm and 4pm, busking from 4pm to 7pm, and an open mic night at the Red Lion and George and Dragon from 7pm.
Also from 7pm, there will be a ‘meet the brewer’ tasting event at The Bottle Bank.
