A ‘CHEERY’ employee at a Knutsford hotel has won a customer service award.

Catherine Allen, breakfast manager at Cottons Hotel and Spa in Manchester Road, was named Customer Service Superstar at the North West Employee Engagement Awards.

She had been nominated by Thwaites – the company that owns Cottons – after a number of customer feedback cards recognised her ‘cheery nature’ and ‘uncanny ability’ to remember names and orders.

Catherine said: “I was so happy to win the award – it was a total surprise but it’s really nice to be recognised like this. Thwaites is a great company to work for and I do love my job.”

The awards honour the achievements of great employees across the region, who are making a difference to their organisations.

Steve Ogden, general manager at Cottons, said: “Catherine has become the face of the breakfast service at Cottons Hotel and Spa.

“She is so friendly and cheerful and says hello to everyone who passes her, whether they are dining at the restaurant or not.

“She has really high standards which we are really keen to pass to other colleagues so she delivers breakfast service training to the food and drink team. We presented her with our employee of the month award recently and we’re delighted she has been recognised by an external award in this way.”
