KNUTSFORD made hard work of chasing a victory target at Westminster Park, but they made it there to record a second win of the campaign.

Needing 93 to win, they had three wickets to spare by the close of a low-scoring Cheshire League Division Four encounter.

Asumon Ahmed (19) was their leading scorer.

Earlier, a fine effort in the field was rewarded when they dismissed their hosts for 92.

Adnan Ghazanfar (4-18), Adeel Bhatti (3-38) and Zeeshan Shah (3-38) joined forces in Knutsford’s attack.

They make a short trip to neighbours Holmes Chapel this weekend.

Knutsford’s seconds had the better of a draw with their Mossley counterparts.

They ran up 202-4 before declaring after being put in, with skipper Rob Vaughan (61) and Abin Abraham (55) sharing in a partnership worth 92 runs for the second wicket.

Mossley reached 150-7 in reply, with Vaughan (2-28) and Siddarth Kholi (2-30) the pick of the visitors’ bowlers.

They host Holmes Chapel’s seconds at Mereheath Lane on Saturday.
