ROYAL Knutsford May Queen Charlotte Kenyon attended Brook Street Unitarian Chapel on Sunday to receive a donation towards the annual event.
The chapel selected the Royal May Day as its small charity to support with events in 2016/17, and handed over a cheque for £660 to Charlotte and chairman Steve Wilkinson.
Steve told those gathered that putting on the annual event can cost around £35,000, while Charlotte spoke of her pride at representing the town as queen.
Alan Eastwood, treasurer of the chapel, handed the cheque over while chapel chairman Graham Birks spoke at his delight in helping such a long established tradition in the town.
Brook Street Chapel now has to consider this coming year’s small charity at their AGM in April. Email suggestions to chattyministerjean@gmail.com.
