DAVE Lingard added his name to a list of competition winners in the Knutsford and District Amateur League after lifting the Taylor Trophy on Sunday.
The Mobberley member emerged as a victor at the end of almost five hours of play at Victory Hall, ending the challenge of Brook Street’s Mark Murphy on the colours.
Alan Williams (Mobberley) and Steven Bloor (Mere) also reached the last four of a tournament for over 55s.
Lingard had seen off holder Carl Prince, also of Brook Street, in the quarter finals.
“It was the closest one yet,” said league secretary Tony Crompton.
“There were games settled on the black, fluked victories and re-spots galore before the semi-finalists emerged.”
