A GLUTEN-FREE bakery, which started life in a Knutsford kitchen, has re-branded to meet growing demand following its success.

Mummy Bakes, now ‘Lottie’s Bakehouse’ was launched by Marianne Evans after her youngest daughter Lottie, eight, was diagnosed with coeliac disease before her second birthday. Marianne created her own gluten-free version of her daughter’s favourite treats.

Since the company was established in 2013, it has gone from strength to strength.

Now Marianne has taken inspiration from her daughter and re-branded as well as moving operations to a new premises off Patmos Lane in Plumley.

“I felt that the time was right to re-evaluate the business and extend our offering,” said Marianne. “We will still be producing the same great flavours under the new Lottie’s Bakehouse branding, but just with a clean, new look.

“We will also be introducing some new lines.

“It took us a while to get the branding right, but I am delighted with the finished product, which represents the company’s coming of age.”

Nearly four years since its creation, Lottie’s Bakehouse now supplies to national company, Fortnum & Mason, as well as businesses, cafes, farm shops and delicatessens such as the Lambing Shed in Knutsford.

The company was also recognised at the FreeFrom Foods Awards last year.

Two products were highly commended whilst another was commended. This year, four products are on the shortlist, with the results being announced at an awards event in March.

Marianne added: “The focus now is on reaching out to more major suppliers as well as making bigger inroads into the farm shop and delicatessen market.

“That’s where customers are more discerning and are likely to choose handmade bakes over mass-produced goods.”

The company has launched a new website.
