A PROPOSAL has been put forward that could see a new pub and 'rural retail hub' at Millington Hall Farm.

Knutsford-based property and planning consultancy, TEM Property (TEM) on behalf of the owner of Millington Hall Farm is to host an onsite community consultation event ahead of the submission of a planning application to find new uses for the redundant buildings at the farm off Millington Hall Lane.

TEM Planning, working in partnership with award-winning Brunning and Price, is currently preparing draft plans to develop a rural food and independent retail hub at the site.

The proposals would include a traditional Brunning & Price country pub, several independent high end retailers, the opportunity for a Parish Room, a children’s playground and/or visitor accommodation.

The redevelopment of the site would also breathe new life into the presently unused buildings, including the retention and upgrade of the existing listed house, whilst creating dozens of new jobs, according to TEM Planning.

Alongside the new retail and leisure opportunities, land around Millington Hall Farm will continue to be farmed in-hand by the Tatton Estate, helping to contribute to the farming industry.

Carol Clarke, head of planning and engagement at TEM Property, said:  “Through these exciting proposals for the redevelopment of Millington Hall we hope to bring a wonderful exciting new hub for the community of Millington.

"New high-quality, destination retailers, restaurant and community space will revitalise the existing buildings, whilst adding value and a sense of place to the rural community.

"We have an existing partnership with Brunning and Price with The Hayhurst Arms in Bostock and we hope to replicate this strong partnership in our proposals for Millington Hall by investing into this important rural community.

"We look forward to engaging with the community regarding the proposals and hearing the views of local people ahead of finalising the plans in a way that can secure the possible jobs and investment.”

The drop-in consultation event will be held at Millington Hall Farm on Thursday, January 12, between 2pm and 7pm, providing a chance for residents and local businesses – and indeed possible patrons - to offer feedback on the proposals.

Members of the TEM Planning and the Brunning and Price team will be on hand during the event to answer any questions throughout the day.

For residents who cannot attend on the day, a project webpage has been established and can be found here from January 12.
