BOOTHS supermarket is recalling its Free Range Egg Mayonnaise Sandwiches because the product contains egg which is not mentioned on the back label.
The supermarket, which has a Knutsford branch in Stanley Road, has failed to mentioned on the label that the egg sandwich contains egg, and mustard.
The message, which has been relayed by the Food Standards Agency, reports that this means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg and/or mustard.
A notice from the supermarket said: "We are recalling the above product due to the packs having an incorrect back label, stating the ingredients for a Lancashire Cheese Sandwich.
"The product contains Egg and Mustard. Any customers who have bought the above product should return any packs to store for a full refund."
The recall affects only the sandwiches with use by date January, 5, 2017.
