A MOBBERLEY alpaca business has withdrawn its application to expand the site after initial refusal from Cheshire East Council.

In October, White Peak Farm in Paddock Hill which currently houses around 65 Alpacas and one donkey, applied to build an agricultural building to help grow the business.

Following a previous application refusal from May, the farm submitted more plans for a ‘general purpose agricultural building’ to store hay bales and machinery including quad bikes. The proposals were rejected in November and the farm put in another application which it eventually withdrew on December 21.

The planning documents said: “The business has continued to expand and increase stock numbers since it was established.

“With the continued expansion of stock numbers the business has insufficient capacity to store winter feed and bedding and the storage of machinery.”

But the council refused stating that it would ‘harm the appearance of the countryside’.

Mobberley Parish Council also objected to the plans saying that the greenbelt would be ‘injured’ if a building is ‘plonked’ in the middle of the countryside and that it would ruin the views from Fiveacres and Paddock Hill.
