TATTON Park has picked up the award for Cheshire’s best tourism marketing project for its tribute to Roald Dahl.

The estate was awarded the title at the 12th annual Marketing Cheshire tourism awards at a ceremony on November 24 held at Chester Racecourse for its ‘Roald Dahl’s Tremendous Adventures at Tatton Park’ running throughout 2016.

The Awards, attended by nearly 300 tourism representatives, celebrate excellence and outstanding achievement by businesses and individuals that contribute to Cheshire’s £2.6 billion visitor economy.

Cheshire East Councillor George Walton, chair of Tatton Park board, said: “This is yet another fantastic achievement and extremely well deserved. Tatton is a national treasure and one that Cheshire East is exceptionally proud of.”

Tatton Park’s learning team also received a ‘highly commended’ award for ‘team of the year’ for their award-winning education programme delivered to over 15,000 school children and adults throughout the year.

Roald Dahl’s Tremendous Adventures at Tatton Park’ was shortlisted for the Northern Marketing Awards, business to consumer category.
