THE Clone Roses are set to make a homecoming show at the Citadel this autumn after another hectic year.

The Stone Roses tribute will perform at The Citadel on November 19 on a night which will also feature The Happy Mondaze.

Clones frontman Gav Scott says the group have had a very busy year since their last Citadel appearance. Highlights include having played at the Isle of Wight Festival, Shiine On Weekender and the sold-out Manchester Academy 1, headlining a Manchester Tribute festival performing to more than 2,500 people.

The band also made their first appearance on the Emerald Isle, selling out The Ulster Hall in Belfast to 1,700 people.

The Clone Roses are the longest-serving and most popular Roses tribute playing live today and use great attention-to-detail to the Manchester legends, acquiring the same clothing, instruments and usually playing the same set as The Roses themselves.

Expect to hear all the classics, Waterfall, Made of Stone, I am the Resurrection along with the new songs All for One and “Beautiful Thing.

"We have had a great year and we've been up and down the country," said Gav, 37.

"We went to see the Stone Roses which was great and we've got a couple of new songs which they are now playing.

"The Citadel is one of the gigs of the year we look out for and when we play it we look out and wave at people we've not seen for a long time. It's a great venue.

"There are more music venues in town over the last year and it's on the up. The Westfield Street Festival is really getting people interested in the music in the town."

The gig takes place on Saturday, November 19 at the Citadel, St Helens with tickets at £13. Doors will be open from 7.30pm.
