PUPILS at a Knutsford School who are studying the Vikings were given food for thought last week.
Year 4 pupils at Bexton Primary discovered what the invaders from the north would have eaten and then had the opportunity to cook it themselves.
The Nordic cooking lesson was delivered by Isabella Smith and Anne Joyce from Northern Zest, a not for profit company specialising in promoting healthy eating courses to children and adults.
Mrs Stephenson, Year 4 teacher at Bexton School, said: βThe children really enjoyed learning about what the Vikings ate and it really brought home to them how different life was more than a thousand years ago.β
Isabella Smith added:β By learning to prepare the vegetables for soup gives the children an opportunity to learn a life skill which will help them to prepare food to contribute to a healthy diet."
