THE Moor is the focus of some good news following its refurbishment and reopening a week earlier than scheduled.

Friends of The Moor announced the reopening of the park on Friday, October 14 after closing for several weeks to install new flooring and equipment, including a new swing area.

Due to repair work that was needed ‘earlier than expected’ it was agreed by Friends of the Moor, Cheshire East Council and Ansa, to bring forward the phase two plans to replace the playhouse and tree stumps and also incorporate ideas from families who use the park.

Michelle Hammond, vice chairman for Friends of The Moor, said: “I love the new playhouse and the parents and kids on the Moor said how happy they were with everything.

“I can't wait to take my three children down to enjoy. The new reopened play area has a new separate swing area for older children to enjoy, new soft surface and many new pieces of equipment including additional basket swing.”

Amid the new additions there is extra swings, a roundabout, two play panels and a new springy.

The playhouse will be part of a unit that has a slide down and climb up to appeal to children of ages between the smaller castle and larger metal and green galaxy units.

The new equipment has been paid for with 106 monies that Cheshire East holds on account for FoTM as well as a grant of £1,500 from Knutsford Town Council.

FoTM has called the new surfacing a ‘magnificent improvement’.
