GOOSTREY residents were treated to a bread-making workshop with Roberts Bakery as part of the village’s fortnight-long festival.
A group of 25 women met veteran bakers Wayne Hewitt and Paul Graves from Roberts in Northwich to learn about making specialist breads and rolls.
This is the second year that residents have met with the bakers, who have 66 years of baking experience between them, with Wayne working at the bakery for 34 years and Paul for 32.
Fourth generation member of the Roberts family, Lindsay Occleston, hosted the classes at her home in Goostrey.
She said: “This is the second time that we’ve been involved in this superb local festival. We had such a huge response from the residents who wanted to learn all the secrets of bread making. Both evenings were a great success and we already have dozens more budding bakers lined up for next year’s event, which is shaping up to be our biggest yet!”
As part of the Goosfest event, the Roberts Bakery Band also played to a crowd of locals at St Luke’s Church in the village.
