HOLMES Chapel Music Society commences its 45th season on Saturday, September 24 with a recital by the young Ukrainian pianist, Vitaly Pisarenko.
Vitaly, who hails from Kiev, was a prize-winner at the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition in 2015.
He will play a programme of works by Beethoven, Schumann and Rachmaninov.
The concert will be held in the Small Hall at the Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre and will start at 8pm.
The society’s programme of concerts for the forthcoming season (2016/17) includes appearances by such well-known ensembles as the Kungsbacka Piano Trio, the Navarra String Quartet and, in December, the baroque ensemble Red Priest, who, as their name suggests, rely heavily for their performances on the music in the style of Vivaldi.
There is a total of nine concerts planned throughout the year from September 2016 to April 2017.
On Saturday, February 4, 2017, the society is holding a special concert entitled “Young Musicians in Concert” to be given by outstanding students from Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College.
The previous concert held in 2015 proved to be a great success.
