THEY may be one of the most successful Olympic couples ever but track cyclist Jason Kenny says the thing he is looking forward to most is returning home to Chelford.

The six-time gold medal winning cyclist and fiance Laura Trott, who became the first woman in British history to win four Olympic gold medals, will be flying home from Rio soon to a warm welcome from Chelford residents.

But Jason said he is looking forward to getting back to the quiet life at home with Laura and their dogs Sprolo and Pringle.

He said: “I love being at the Olympics, but when you’re finished the athletes’ village seems quite confined.

“I’m going home as soon as possible to walk the dogs and try to relax a bit.

Asked if the achievement was life-changing, he added: “I hope not. I like my life.”

Laura is originally from Hertfordshire but moved to the area with Bolton man Jason three years ago to be nearer to the velodrome in Manchester.

And the pair have been regularly spotted cycling in the area in preparation for Rio 2016.
