NEW managers of a Mobberley pub have said they are ‘absolutely thrilled’ to take over and have revealed ‘exciting’ plans for the future.

Married couple, Caroline and Martin Terrington, have recently taken the helm at the J. W. Lees pub The Plough and Flail, in Paddock Hill Lane.

With a background in hospitality, Caroline and Martin met whilst working in a kitchen, before Caroline went on to manage Dutton’s Wine Bar in Chester city centre.

She has also worked for Knutsford based company, Living Ventures, which owns Gusto and The Botanist, both located in King Street.

Caroline said: “We are very excited to take on a new challenge at the Plough and Flail, the pub is beautiful with so much potential that we cannot wait to get stuck in creating menus and events for the local and wider community to enjoy.

“We have started to introduce wine nights with Richard from the Cheshire Wine School, which are a monthly event.

“We also have Plough o`clock every Friday from 6pm when we put out free bar nibbles which are tasters from our menu. We are also introducing live music once a month which, weather permitting, will be on our terrace/

“The events and plans we have for the Plough are so exciting. We look forward to welcoming new and existing guest to our pub.”

The couple, who are now living above the pub, are hosting one of their nights in conjunction with the wine school, on Friday, August 26 from 7.30pm.

During the last few weeks of summer, there will also be meadow hunts for children, as well as ‘Summer Sundays’, when the outside bar and terrace will be open for al fresco dining and drinking.

The menu has received an overhaul, with new additions including ‘seabass with crab and dill potato cake and mussel salsa verde’ and ‘duck breast with soy caramelised chicory, dauphinoise potato and red wine jus’.
