KNUTSFORD’S retailers have pulled out all the stops this week, adorning their show windows with impressive floral displays.

The town-wide exhibition and competition is a salute to the annual RHS Flower Show Tatton and during the week all types of businesses get on board with the theme, turning the streets of Knutsford into eye-catching spectacles.

Organiser, Peter Murray owner of Pulse of Perfumery on Princess Street, came up with the idea five years ago, and it has been running ever since.

“POP are so proud to be part of this truly unique group of passionate retailers who over the past 5 years have created a major highlight in the towns calendar,” said Peter.

This year’s winner was Gusto on King Street, with its ‘Rio Carnival’ themed window.

Clare & Illingworth optometrists on King Street came runner up with a distinction.

A statement from Gusto, said: “We are very proud to have won the ‘RHS Best Dressed Window’ award! We have a new Business Development Manager in the unit, Nicky Hutton, who designed the display alongside Bridget from Knutsford Bloom who really helped to bring the display to life.”

“We wanted to make our display as interactive as possible which is why we included the ‘Rio Carnival’ themed selfie silhouette, for anyone who came to see the display to take a selfie using the #RHSgusto.

“Social media helps us to stay connected with our customers and we’ve loved looking at all the posts people have tagged us in and reading the wonderful comments! So thanks everyone for getting involved with our display, we wouldn’t have won without everyone embracing the idea and getting involved.”

Other businesses who took part and came highly commended were The Botanist, White Orchid, Zapatos, Lloyds Bank, Nicholas Austen, Pulse of Perfumery, Woods Butchers, Boa Hairdressing, Mr Simm’s Olde Sweet Shoppe and more.

Cllr Jan Nicholson, Knutsford Town Mayor, said: “It was lovely to welcome the RHS to Knutsford to judge the spectacular window displays by so many retailers and I hope the visitors to the town enjoyed and appreciated the hard work that the businesses put into it.

“The RHS Knutsford Floral Walk is a joy to see and it’s all thanks to the retailers, especially Peter Murray of On the Pulse of Perfumery, for setting it up and taking part over the last five years. Thanks and well done to all.”
