A CASH boost of more than £150,000 is set to be divided between two projects in Warrington as part of the BBC Children in Need

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide – based in the town – has been awarded a grant of £98,667 to fund a suicide prevention advisor.

The project provides a confidential advice service to children and young people at risk of suicide.

Footsteps 2000 Limited has been awarded £51,561 to provide support sessions to young people who have been affected by a family member’s substance misuse problems.

Elizabeth Myers, regional head of the north for BBC Children in Need said: “It’s always extremely rewarding to award funding to projects such as these in Warrington, that make a tangible difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.

"In the coming months these projects will work with young people in Warrington who need it most, which without the help of our fundraisers wouldn’t be possible."
