PRINCESS Street Pre-School has welcomed its new manager after saying goodbye to Lucy Davies, who headed up the nursery for a decade.

Mother-of-three, Ali Comline, who has worked at the pre-school for the past four years in various roles, has now taken over the role of manager and says she is committed to ‘maintain the high standards’ and ‘build on the successes’ of the previous 44 years.

Ali is an experienced, qualified primary school teacher who specialises in early years and has a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in special needs.

“Princess Street Pre-School provides an excellent start to schooling with a nurturing gentle approach to teaching the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, in a supportive and motivating environment,” she said. “Over the previous 44 years the pre-school has prepared children of all abilities for their transition into surrounding local schools where they have continued to grow and flourish.

“I am pleased to be leading a highly qualified and professional staff team, experienced in working with pre-school children and successfully delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage.

“We will continue to build on the great work done by Lucy Davies and to raise standards with the aim of taking our previous Ofsted inspection grade from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’.”

Ali added: “We will maintain and strengthen our links with all of the educational establishments in the community to ensure a seamless best start to education for children, where each child matters and we are committed to ensuring that they reach their full learning potential.

“I look forward to working and engaging with all of our current children and parents in my new role and welcome enquires from any new parents and would be happy to arrange for visits and taster sessions for children.”
