A NATIONAL bus firm has taken on one of the services that was cancelled on Thursday following the demise of GHA Coaches.

The Welsh-based firm went into administration on Wednesday evening resulting in scores of bus services being cancelled across Cheshire.

The company ran the 88 service between Wilmslow and Altrincham, calling at Knutsford, the 200 service to Manchester Airport via Styal and the 27 from Macclesfield and Macclesfield Hospital to Knutsford.

Cheshire East Council has announced that Arriva has taken over the number 88 service but it will run every hour, instead of every half hour, starting at 6.40am from Altrincham and Knutsford.

It will run from Monday, July 18.

The 200 will be operated by Howards and the 27 to Macclesfield will be taken over by High Peak as a commercial service, running every two hours.
