VOTERS in east Cheshire have decided to back the national trend and leave the European Union.
The figures for Cheshire East are 113,163 Leave and 107,962 to Remain.
Turnout for Cheshire East was 77.36 per cent.
Since the national result was declared, with a 52 per cent win for Leave, the pound suffered its biggest drop since the 1980s.
Share prices have also fallen, with Barclays down by almost 40 per cent.
Prime Minister David Cameron also announced his intention to resign, with a new leader in place by October.
