A GOOSTREY pub has marked the success of the manager's wife completing the Chester Half Marathon after she raised more than £5,000 for charity
Catherine Daley, HR manager at 16 Hospitality and wife of The Crown’s general manager, Shaun, joined 11 of her colleagues from across the company to tackle the 13.1 mile course around the city on May 15.
Her efforts have helped The Crown’s Cheshire-based hospitality operator, 16 Hospitality, to raise a total of £5,000 so far for Home-Start, with the total rising each day.
The team from the company’s four sites across Cheshire and Anglesey, as well as its head office, have been working hard to raise money on behalf of their chosen charity, Home-Start.
The money will be used to support families in Central and West Cheshire who are reaching breaking point because of isolation, bereavement, illness, poverty and other challenging issues.
Catherine said: “It was a fantastic day with an amazing atmosphere. It was great to have so many spectators cheering us on; it really helped to motivate us during those tougher moments! I would like to say a huge thank you to our locals, as well as our friends and family, for donating so generously and I hope the money raised will make a real difference to struggling families in Cheshire.”
Anyone who would like to supports The Crown’s efforts can still donate to the pub’s Just Giving page at justgiving.com/teams/sixteenhospitality.
