A KNUTSFORD estate has been revealed as the third setting in the area for an award-winning TV show that saw its third series aired this month.

TEM Locations, part of the Tatton Estate, welcomed the cast and crew of Peaky Blinders to Peover Hall for filming in December 2015.

The new season of BBC 2’s hit gangster epic aired on May 5 and as the Guardian revealed last week had seen scenes shot at Arley Hall and Tabley Chapel.

The interior and exterior of the working stable yard at Peover Hall, dating back to the 17th Century and located in the grounds of the Elizabethan Hall, was the setting for numerous significant scenes in both the first and second episodes of the third season of Steven Knight’s cult drama set in the 1920’s.

Heather Clawson, TEM location manager, said: “The Tatton Estate has been the home to several well-known children’s television series over the past few years.

"We’ve loved being a part of such a bright and colourful world and it was quite a change being involved with a gritty period drama. Working with such a well-known production team during the autumn and being on set during the filming of Peaky Blinders was absolutely magical.

"The 1920’s sets were so atmospheric and really fabulous to see at Peover.”

Simon Maloney, Peaky Blinders producer, said: “Working with Heather and all at the TEM and The Peover Estate was a real joy.

"The quality and diversity of locations on offer within the estate is stunning and really helped to bring some beauty to the authenticity of our story telling.

"It’s not often you can shoot almost 360 degrees on a period location.

"The shoot days ran very smoothly thanks to all the help from Heather and all the staff at Peover Hall.

"As a Knutsford resident and huge advocate of bringing high end drama production to the Cheshire region, I would urge anyone to see first hand what the estate can offer."

Peover Hall was built in 1585 by Sir Randle Mainwaring and was acquired by the Brooks family in 1939.

During World War II the house was requisitioned as a HQ for the United States 3rd Army to train for the D-Day landings.

It also housed a POW camp and a set for A Tale of Two Cities, Sherlock Homes and many other productions.
