CROWDS gathered in the town on Sunday to bring in Knutsford's first Makers Market of the season, despite the wintery weather.

Hundreds of people turned up to the Princess Street market, which is established as one of Niche Ventures' flagship markets in the North West.

Visitors from town and further afield were spoilt for choice and had the chance to browse products from more than 150 artisans who showcased award-winning food and drink and a wonderful array of art, craft, design and vintage.

At the opening event there was produce such as cheese, pies, locally brewed ales, pates and giant brownies as well as vintage trinkets, trucks and suitcases.

Cllr Andrew Malloy, of Knutsford Town Council, said: "It was a good all-round day, and generally well attended despite the weather."

Entertainment was provided by Manchester musician, Andrew Warner, and Chris Tavener a satirical singer who impress audiences at last year's Leghfest at The Legh Arms.

The Knutsford Makers Market takes place on the first Sunday of each month on Princess Street
