Knutsford 12
Formby 2nd 0
SAM Bowker, invited to play late on after a teammate suffered an injury, scored five times as Knutsford recorded their biggest victory of the season.
If the Black Knights extend a winning sequence to six matches by beating Blackburn Northern this weekend, they will be on course to occupy second spot in the North West Men's League's second tier at the turn of the year.
They scored eight times during a clinical second-half display against Formby at a wet and windy leisure centre on Saturday.
Jonny Price, from Bowker's assist, put them in front after 10 minutes.
Keelan Sherwani doubled their advantage following an identical move, only this time player-coach Simon Trenbirth supplied an assist.
At the other end, net-minder Tom Wright kept out the visitors when they made a rare foray forward.
Two more Knutsford goals arrived before the break; Tom Howard converted for 3-0, then Bowker grabbed his first goal of the afternoon.
A fifth score arrived shortly after the interval, when captain Dave Price despatched a penalty stroke.
Jonny Price increased their lead, steering into an empty net after smart approach play from Sherwani.
The hosts did not relent, Trenbirth slotting a seventh before Bowker hit the net three times during an 11-minute spell in which he repeatedly found space behind tiring defenders.
Tom Lewis got in on the act late on, his quickfire double completing an emphatic victory for the hosts.
