ORGANISERS of the Knutsford and District Lions’ annual charity concert welcomed two surprise visitors to the event on Friday.

Lion President, Pat Heath, was taken aback to receive two reservations for the concert from Nova Scotia in Canada.

Ray and Nathan Myles travelled more than 2,500 miles to Knutsford to appear as surprise guests of one of the musical acts, Breeze and Wilson.

The Canadian tourists met Breeze and Wilson back in 2007 when they gave performances in Nova Scotia, and they have been in touch ever since.

Their arrival at Knutsford Methodist Church remained secret until after the interval when they were introduced to the crowd, and the performers.

Breeze and Wilson suggested many times that Raye and Nathan should come over to England and see them on their own soil – so when they heard of the Knutsford Lions Charity Concert they decided to spring a surprise visit.

They also brought over a pair of specially made guitars, which they presented to Toby and Graham to add to their collection.

A spokesperson for the Lions said: “The excellent entertainment that evening was no surprise, but the two transatlantic visitors in the audience were!”
