MANOR Park Primary School is celebrating after raising more than £1,500 during their annual autumn fair.

The family event which was organised by the Manor Park School Association as well as a number of teachers, attracted hundreds of people who turned up to enjoy what the pupils had to offer.

Each child was asked to bring a small donation, which was then either sold or used to make money on various activity stands.

Amanda Bassett, deputy head teacher at Manor Park, said: “The fair was massive. It was really good and we are very pleased.

“All the children brought in donations and we sold them at the fair. Most of the money was raised from the families.

“We were really surprised at how busy it was. The weather was overcast but it didn’t rain so that also worked out well.”

As well as a range of small stalls there was a fire engine, a BBQ, a DJ, a Slimming World stand, dancers and a performance from the school choir.

One of the main attractions was a guided tour around the new extension at the school, which was completed during the summer and opened by Deputy Mayor Cllr Jan Nicholson.

The tours were led by Amanda and Manor Park head teacher, Jo Ashcroft.
