A TEAM of intrepid explorers from The Old Sessions House have successfully completed the three peaks charity challenge against all odds.

Alison Webb, Chris Webb, Ryan Murray and Pam Fox set out to conquer the highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland, all in less than 30 hours.

The challenge tests the walkers stamina and courage as Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike are all tackled in just over one day, one in complete darkness.

The group, which includes siblings Alison and Chris who both work at the gastro pub in Canute Place, completed the challenge on September 24 and 25 in an impressive 29 and a half hours despite two brave rescue missions of other climbers who were injured on Ben Nevis.

Each climber decided to face the mountain for a different cause, raising money for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), Macmillan Cancer Support, The Christie Charity and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

27-year-old business development manager, Alison, said: “We are all a bit achy now but Team TOSH did really well.

“It was a fantastic experience and our times up and down the mountains were really good. We would have hit our target of 27 hours but we actually carried out a couple of rescue missions and even had to carry one man down who kept falling over.

“Ryan helped a lady down Ben Nevis who had hurt her ankle; he supported her for two and a half hours.”

The colleagues were joined by a group of four friends, who accompanied them on the trip while Alison and Chris’ dad Brendan helped out with the driving.

The group, who have now raised £1010, have put their fundraising success down to TOSH regular named Jill, who started a campaign to boost awareness of the challenge.

“Our regulars were great,” said Alison. “Loads came in and donation to us. But Jill, came in and created loads of promotional material and handed it out to anyone who came in.

“We have had loads of support from everyone. We are really proud of what we have done and we also really enjoyed it.

“Ben Nevis was absolutely beautiful- we watched the sun come up and then came down in our tee-shirts.”

The fantastic four are now considering taking on the daunting four peaks challenge next year, which includes the same three mountains with the addition of Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland.
