KNUTSFORD Academy pupils celebrated outstanding grades on GCSE results day with 20 of them achieving all A* and A grades.

More than 100 nervous pupils and their parents turned up at Knutsford Academy to receive their results on Thursday, August 20.

One high achiever, Mia Stephenson, 16, achieved four A*’s, six A’s and one B grade and is now looking forward to continuing her hard work at sixth form.

Mia said: “I’m really happy with my results and now I’m just excited for A levels. I got A*’s in the subjects I’ve chosen to do at A Level, which are physics, chemistry, biology and maths, so that was really pleasing because I worked hard for it.”

Knutsford head of college James Whittaker was delighted with the results and said it was just what the year group deserve after ‘exemplary behaviour’ and ‘outstanding attitude’ throughout their time at the school.

Mr Whittaker said: “I’d like to say congratulations to them all as a year group. They have been absolutely fantastic to teach for all of the staff here.

“Their behaviour has been exemplary and their attitude outstanding. It’s pleasing therefore that so many have achieved high grades.

“We have 20 students who have achieved all A* and A grades and 40 who have got no less than a B grade in all subjects. I wish them all luck in whatever they choose to do from this point forward.”

The highest achiever in the school was Daniel Wilson who got five A*’s and six A’s and he is staying at Knutsford Academy Sixth Form and aiming to become a computer programmer.

Daniel said: “My results were pretty much what I got in my mock exams so I was expecting to do well but I’m really happy.”
