A KNUTSFORD author will be hosting a signing of her second novel at Waterstones on King Street this weekend.

Zara Stoneley, author of ‘Stable mates’, will be autographing copies of her latest book, ‘Country Affairs’ which was released on July 16 by publisher HarperCollins.

The 51-year-old author, who lives on Mobberley Road, is set to release her third book just in time for Christmas.

Copies of both books will be available from the bookstore, and the author will be there to interact with customers from 10am to 2pm on Saturday August 15.

Zara said: “I'm really thrilled to have been invited to Waterstones in Knutsford, because without the town the books would never have been written.

“I've lived in Knutsford most of my life, enjoyed the surrounding countryside, ridden horses, kept dogs, made a lot of friends and had plenty of fun times, and so when my publisher asked me to write some Jilly Cooper style 'romps through Cheshire' I jumped at the chance.

“It's always lovely to chat about books and writing, and life in Knutsford, so I'm looking forward to Saturday.

“I hope people will stop by and say hello, find out about the stories, and pick up a leaflet about the competition that I'm launching in conjunction with HarperCollins.

“We're looking for a dog to star in my next book and on the cover, I love the terrier that's on the cover of Country Affairs. And if anybody has read either of the books and thinks they recognise locations or people - I'd be happy to answer questions.

“I also have to admit that I write under a pseudonym, so people might want to come down and find out if I'm who they think I am!”
