KNUTSFORD animal lovers can have their cake and eat it this month as vet charity PDSA prepares to host a ladies afternoon tea party at Mere Golf Resort and Spa to raise money for pets in need.

The event, which is being held on Wednesday, August 19, is being supported by the deputy mayor of Cheshire East, Cllr Olivia Hunter.

It aims to raise vital funds for the charity, which treats thousands of pets across the North West every year.

Cllr Hunter said: “PDSA is a lifeline for thousands of pet owners across the region and I want to encourage any ladies that love pets to come along to the event, which promises to offer something special for those looking to support this very special charity.”

The charity is inviting ladies to attend the exclusive event, which begins at 1pm with welcome drinks, followed by afternoon tea in the Mere Suite, overlooking the golf course.

Brenda Smith, community fundraiser at PDSA, said: “We are so excited about this event and are looking forward to meeting old friends of PDSA and some new animal-loving supporters in Cheshire for an afternoon of pampering – all in aid of poorly pets!

“Guests will enjoy freshly prepared afternoon tea and peruse a range of boutique stalls, selling everything from clothes and shoes to jewellery, perfume and accessories. Mere Spa will also have members of their team on hand to offer mini treatments to help guests relax, indulge and beautify.”

Ladies will also be able to meet PDSA vets and nurses, who treat the pets of people in need every day.

Tickets cost £35 each.
