KNUTSFORDIANS enjoyed a fun-filled Saturday as hundreds descended on to St John's Wood to enjoy the annual Over Ward fun day.

With the event landing on the best day weather wise of the weekend, children and their parents enjoyed a host of activities on the field.

The event was organised by Community Spirit and Kane Gunter, acting chairman, said it had been a good day.

"Plenty turned up and we were lucky with the weather," he said.

"We made sure we had an outside seating area so parents could have a breather and enough room for the families who came down.

"The kids loved the pool competition and we had a climbing wall and this year we had a bungee frame as well, which was really well received. We had the normal stalls, a raffle and a tombola and the police came down with their cars and there were quite a few children walking around in uniforms."

Community Spirit also ran a consultation on the day where they were looking for views from residents about what they want to see happen in the area.

"We did a colour-coded consultation, which was done to track the ages of the consultees," Kane added.

"We were asking people what they wanted to see in the area, such as the sports barn."

The results of that consultation will be announced later in the summer.
