THE first ever 10k race at Colshaw Hall took place over the weekend, with 500 runners taking part.
The sell-out event on Sunday, June 28, run by Northwich-based Cute Fruit Events, saw the venue in Over Peover, more renowned as a wedding destination, transformed for the morning.
The owner of Colshaw Hall, David Irlam, set the runners off at 10am with the first male Stuart Doyle, from Vale Royal AC crossing the line in 34 minutes 21 seconds and first female Gemma Barnett, also from Vale Royal AC, finished in 39 minutes 55 seconds.
Mike Harrington, from Cute Fruit Events, said: "We had a lot of experienced club runners as well as many first timers and people raising money for various charities.
"We had a lot of volunteers from Knutsford branch of the Cheshire Fire Service cadets who were brilliant."
