A KNUTSFORD childcare centre has introduced a ‘bike school’ cycling course for its three to four year olds.

Kids Allowed, which is based on Mobberley Road, has already trained 16 children to ride a bike across its centres in just a few short weeks.

‘Bike School’ is aimed to teach children the life longs skills needed to ride a bike safely, including balancing, gliding, steering, road safety and hand signals.

Jennie Johnson, founder and CEO of Kids Allowed, said: “Riding a bike can take a while to master but it’s a skill that will stay with our children for life.

“By introducing best practice and good habits at the outset the children will learn in the correct way.  Safety and speed awareness are taught alongside the hard skills of steering, pedalling and braking!

“The children have plenty of time to practice in our outdoor spaces and we have a wide range of bikes for them to hone their skills on.

“Once they have mastered the basics they all love to go and play outside together and have races.

“I would be delighted if we have trained a Sir Bradley Wiggins or Dame Sarah Storey of the future at one of our centres!”
