A NEW town partnership, the Promote Knutsford Forum, has been established with the aim of promoting Knutsford as a place to live, work and thrive.

Made up of a group of Knutsford Town Council and Cheshire East Council, voluntary and business sector, residents and co-opted members, the steering group will work to raise the town’s profile, support local economic growth, strengthen its identity and reinforce communication and community.

The Promote Knutsford Forum was established six years ago as part of the Knutsford Local Area Partnership (LAP) established by Cheshire East.

Now the LAPs have been wound down, they have been replaced by 'Town Partnerships' made up of business and resident volunteers working with town and borough representatives on wide-ranging projects.

"The constitution of a town partnership presents an opportunity for Knutsfordians to benefit not only from potential funding, but a forum in which ideas and initiatives can be discussed, nurtured and brought to life," said Emma Moore, PKF chair.

"The Promote Knutsford Forum - Town Partnership represents community groups, businesses and residents of Knutsford with just one goal; to promote Knutsford as a place to live, work and thrive.

"Over the last two years, with no funding to speak of, we have achieved some real successes for the town. As a 'Town Partnership' I believe we can accomplish spectacular things."

The PKF has co-opted Tatton Park and Knutsford Academy onto the steering group.

"Tatton Park has enjoyed working with local community groups and organisations, schools, volunteers, companies and business forums for many years," said Carole Mullineux, Tatton Park business development manager.

"Our membership of the new look PKF consolidates these relationships so that we can continue to work together to help promote Knutsford and Tatton Park as a great place to live, visit and work."

If you are interested in getting involved with the PKF, the next open meeting will be held on Thursday, October 8.

More details will be available nearer the time.
