A serious collision involving five vehicles on the M6 motorway in Cheshire has caused major tailbacks in the area.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident, which happened near Sandbach Services on the northbound side.
That side of the motorway is now closed and fire and rescue teams are on the scene.
The northbound carriageway is likely to be closed for several more hours while a police investigation takes place and vehicles are removed from the carriageway.
If you are stuck in traffic on the M6 n/b j16-17 please be patient we're looking to get vehicles released and on their way asap.
