A TRAVEL tour operator has set up shop in Knutsford in the former unit of an award-winning florist.

Chester-based Eden Collection has opened on King Street in the unit that was home to the former Black Rose florists.

Its owner Lynne Miller retired in December 2014 leaving the unit vacant but the travel business snapped up the unit from agents Williams Commercial and held an opening party on Thursday, May 14.

The store held a ‘sparkling drinks party’ with regular and prospective Eden clients from the area being able to meet and mingle with the Eden team.

Drinks were served by bellmen from Belmond Northern Belle and crew members from Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class cabin.

Paul Beacall, Eden’s managing director, said: "It was a really fun, relaxed evening, and great to see so many friends – old and new – there to help us celebrate.

"Having the team from Belmond (previously Orient Express) and Virgin Atlantic there to join in the festivities was fantastic, as their in-depth expertise perfectly complemented that of our own super-friendly, candid team.

"And we’re really enjoying being in Knutsford, and being a part of such a close local community – so we’ll definitely be holding many more insightful and varied events over the coming months and beyond.”

The business was first set up in 1972 and according to its website offers 'the very finest in luxury holidays across the globe'. The store will also feature an E-Den, a dedicated space equipped with TVs and games consoles, so the kids can play, relax, read, draw or even get on with their homework, all while parents take care of their next family adventure.
