RESIDENTS at a Mobberley retirement home took part in VE celebrations to commemorate some of their own personal experiences of WWII.

On Friday May 8, a number of historical military vehicles were on parade at Sunrise Senior Living, and there was wartime entertainment from local singer Laney.

The residence is home to some of those who fought on the frontline, as well as a number of women who worked in the factories at Bletchley Park.

Tenants at Sunrise Mobberley weathered the rain to keep the celebrations going with members of the local community.

John Harrison, Mobberley Director of Community Relations, said: “It was a superb day for everyone at Sunrise. A lot of our residents here prefer not to remember the war itself – but they remember victory and joy it brought. It’s always a pleasure to share this day with them, especially on the 70th anniversary.”
