FOLLOWING on from last year's successful Easter event, Knutsford's businesses will once again be staging the 'Bunny Hop' on the town's streets.

The town's retailers first held the 'Bunny Hop' in 2014, as a follow up to the popular 'Pumpkin Path' event held on Hallowe'en.

And with last year's Easter event being deemed a huge success, the 'Bunny Hop' will return on Saturday, April 4.

More than 1,700 entry forms have been placed in Knutsford children's school bags, with more placed around participating shops and 500 more being available to be picked up from Gusto on King Street.

Stef Meachin, business development manager at Gusto on King Street, told the Guardian there were a couple of tweaks compared to last year's successful event.

Instead of children hunting for clues inside the town's shops, children will have to hunt for eight bunnies – all hidden around the town centre.

"All the bunnies will be hidden around town and they all have names on," she said.

"When you have found one of them you write down the name of the bunny on the form.

"The parents can shop and the children can get on with the 'Bunny Hop' and finding the clues. Many of the shops are having promotions and at Gusto each child which has a meal gets a free chocolate egg.

"I remember walking out of Gusto last year and heard someone on the phone saying what a great day in Knutsford and telling that person to get down here as everyone was dressed up.

"It is a way of trying to make it a fun weekend for families, especially those who don't go away for Easter."

Julia Chard, from Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe, added: "It is great to be involved in organising this years Knutsford Bunny Hop.

"Feedback from families is amazing, am sure we will have a very busy Easter Saturday in Knutsford town. I would like to say a special thanks for support from all the local primary schools for ensuring 1,700 Bunny Hop entry forms were sent home in pupils reading bags.

"Bring in the bunnies!"
